The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is a conservation area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera.
The Ngorongoro Crater in Africa is one of the most densest wildlife areas in the world, and is home to some of the remaining Black Rhinos of Tanzania. The Crater is home to hippos, zebras, gazelles, warthogs, elands, lions, herds of wildebeests, elephants, hyenas, cheetahs, leopards and others.

Temperatures in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area vary from 3c to 35c. Frost occurs on the highest mountain tops and temperatures are always lower along the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater than on its floor and sometimes the night time temperatures are usually cold and can approach freezing point in the dry season, so be prepared! The coldest months are from June to August.
